The Shooting Stars Over Texas JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) is a program offered through the NAA (National Archery Association) to promote the sport of archery. Our program offers basic instructions, recreational and tournament level training, and a safe environment to learn the sport of archery. The Shooting Stars over Texas JOAD Club is sanctioned through the National Archery Association and is located in Tyler, Texas. We offer several types of programs as outlined below.

For the beginner/recreational archer, ages 8-18, we will offer a basic program of instruction and guidance to teach the basic skills of archery while insuring safety and encouraging a fun time. Dues include basic instruction and all equipment.

For the more advanced archer, we will offer a program of coaching, training, and instructions in tournament skills. Advanced archers are encouraged to participate in the JOAD ranking program that will offer goal setting, accomplishment award certificates, and merit badges. Dues include individual score tracking, award certificates, all equipment if needed, and a team environment.

For the senior archer, those folks 19-90, we will offer a Senior Training Program to teach the basic skills to beginner archers. For those experienced archers, we offer a safe place to practice and enjoy the lifetime sport of archery. Shoot for a goal or just shoot for fun.

JOAD Dues: 5.00 per session. Equipment Rental: $2.00 per session

Shooting Star JOAD will meet every other Saturday at the Tyler Archery Club range located on County Road 272, off Highway 64 just before the Oil Palace. Turn left across from Hicks Lawn Mower Service on CR 272 then left between 10178 and 10182 CR 272, look for Target signs.
